Bivio Networks and Global Crossing’s Federal Sector Forge Strategic Partnership

Global IP solutions provider selects Bivio Networks to power advanced managed security service aimed at U.S. Government customers

August 9, 2010, Pleasanton, Calif. and Florham Park, N.J. - Bivio Networks, a leading provider of network systems for securing, monitoring and controlling critical network infrastructure, and Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider with the world’s first integrated global IP-based network, today announced a technology partnership to deliver managed security services for U.S. government customers.

Global Crossing’s Federal Sector will use Bivio Networks products, including the recently announced Continuous Threat Monitoring Solution, to provide a powerful and sophisticated managed security service to U.S. Government customers that will include continuous monitoring, intrusion detection, anomaly detection and data retention.

Targeted primarily to U.S. Government customers, the service leverages the tools, techniques and procedures that Global Crossing has developed in order to protect its own global IP network, and to facilitate the protection of its customers’ networks. Through this partnership, Global Crossing will provide professional services; management of security hardware and applications; and operational support for continuous network monitoring.

“Bivio Networks’ Continuous Threat Monitoring Solution make it an ideal partner for Global Crossing’s Federal Sector to proactively monitor, control and protect network infrastructure and information,” said John Sutton, executive vice president and general manager of Global Crossing’s Federal Sector. “This new service reflects Global Crossing’s commitment to providing our U.S. federal customers end-to-end solutions for enhanced security across the entire infrastructure.”

“In addition, this is an excellent incremental step in Global Crossing's evolving managed security strategy,” Sutton added.

“Increasingly, government customers are turning to managed services to deliver the security, performance and manpower necessary to optimize and protect critical infrastructure,” said Dr. Elan Amir, president and CEO of Bivio Networks. “We look forward to applying our cyber security expertise to equip Global Crossing’s Federal Sector with the unprecedented network awareness and in-depth forensic capabilities necessary to provide the most advanced managed security services available today.”
