April 14, 2003 - Bivio Networks&Trade; Adds Industry Leading Routing To Security Platform
The Bivio 1000™ Integrates NextHop’s GateD Routing with Check Point Software
PLEASANTON, CALIF. - April 14, 2003 – Bivio Networks™, a leading supplier of secure IP-service platforms, has extended it’s partnership with NextHop to deliver industry leading security solutions. Bivio Networks will integrate NextHop's GateD® routing with software from Check Point Software Technologies® and deliver an integrated solution on the Bivio 1000, a mulit-gigabit, security platform. GateD® routing software, a defacto-industry standard, enables Bivio to deploy highly scalable routing capabilities for the Bivio 1000. In addition, the platform supports firewall, VPN and traffic management with multi-gigabit performance under heavy session loads.
"We are excited to extend our partnership with Bivio Networks to security solutions. The Bivio 1000 with Gate D® offers a carrier grade solution for scalable, reliable multiprotocol routing support for their customers," said Dennis Tsu, vice president of marketing, NextHop Technologies. "We are delighted that we can help Bivio Networks get security solutions to market faster, with lower development and support costs."
"Together with NextHop, we extend the value of our security platform making deployment of the Bivio 1000 simple for network operators. Now improved performance at small packet sizes and heavy session loads is simpler to deploy," said Nate Walker, director of marketing for Bivio Networks. "With NextHop routing, our solution is easy to integrate into large networks where high performance dynamic routing is required."
NextHop's GateD® is the most stable, fully functional, vendor-neutral routing software available in the world today. With more than 50 man years in making the last consortium release of GateD® code into a commercial product, NextHop continues to be a leading provider of router software solutions for the networking industry. NextHop offers proven routing software solutions to meet developers' demands for scalability, interoperability and reliability, and continues to develop successful partnerships and collaboration with customers.
The Bivio 1000 system delivers uncompromising performance and unmatched flexibility for security applications. For example, Tolly Group test results illustrate the Bivio 1000 delivers ASIC-like performance to Check Point FireWall-1 software under heavy session loads. Bivio is the only Check Point security platform that delivers exceptional small packet performance, session rates and 82% of line rate throughput at 64 bytes. The system is packaged in a small form factor that incorporates redundancy and scalability required for deployment in enterprise and carrier networks. In addition, the system delivers future value by enabling new security or IP services to be added via remote software upgrades.
