The Bivio 1000™/1000S™ Integrate NextHop GateD® Routing with Check Point FireWall-1/VPN-1
PLEASANTON, CALIF. – June 16, 2003 – Bivio Networks™, a leading supplier of secure IP-service platforms, today announced the availability of integrated routing on the Bivio 1000 and Bivio 1000S systems. Bivio’s security platforms now offer NextHop’s GateD® routing along with Check Point’s FireWall-1® and VPN-1® for an integrated solution.

The Bivio 1000/1000S software options now include GateD® routing which can be combined with other security and IP service applications to deliver fully integrated solutions easing implementation for large networks. GateD® provides RIP, OSPF and BGP routing functionality that is fully compliant with IETF RFCs and fully interoperable with systems from Cisco, Juniper and others. NextHop's GateD® is the most stable, fully functional, vendor-neutral routing software available in the world today.

The Bivio 1000 now delivers a combination of security and IP services with industry leading performance on all applications simultaneously:
- Firewall – 2 Gbps throughput @ 1518 byte packets, 1.6 Gbps @ 64 byte packets
- VPN – 1.2 Gbps 3DES throughput, 40,000 tunnels
- Routing – 2 Gbps throughput for RIP, OSPF and BGP
In addition, the Bivio 1000 incorporates sophisticated traffic management for metering, policing, and queuing, all accomplished in hardware at wire-speed.
Bivio’s unique and superior system architecture delivers breakthrough performance at all packet sizes and under heavy session loads. The system is packaged in a small form factor to minimize space requirements.
